![]() this is frustrating, i had 3 days of from work, tomorow i gotta go back and work, thanks steam for this wonderfull piece of hardware! Postat inițial de Sir Tkillaahh San:yeah, i haven't used the steam link for maybe longer then a month, suddenly it doesn't work, it keeps on lagging, i run on and of the stairs 30 times before i can eventually play a game or use my desktop trough the steam link, i tried different internet cables, of maybe being busy with it for 10 hours in 3 days, i might have used it almost 4 hours of the ten. For completeness my system is Windows 7 Pro, running on an AMD Phenom II X6 with 8GB RAM and a GTX 580. So now with my PC steam client on the standard version, the steam link on build 507 and setting the sound config manually it seems to be working. It seems this was the steam link not detecting the sound setup properly, as switching it off auto-detect and setting the sound configuration manually seems to have fixed the problem. This was only for games, the interface sounds in big picture worked fine, and it would play music too. Reverting the steam link back to 507 though did fix the dropping issue, but now if I started a game it would only be streaming the picture, not sound. Factory reset on the steam link didn't help, but that took it all the way back to build 249, so maybe not surprising. This was with the steam link running the 513 build. Rather than dropping after only a few seconds it would now stay connected in big picture mode, but if I tried to do anything (start a game, play some music, or do anything outside steam) it would usually drop out. It seems that the problem was at least in part due to the steam client on my PC (I had it using the beta version) as switching back to the standard version alleviated the problem. Usually I have the steam link connected directly to my PC with ethernet, but the same thing happened if it got it to connect through WiFi. It would also often crash steam out of big picture mode on the PC. It would detect my PC fine and would connect, but the connection would drop after a few seconds and the steam link would lose its network connection completely and have to reconnect. I had been using my steam link happily for a few months now, but when I started it up yesterday after not having used it for a couple of weeks it wouldn't stay connected to my PC. So from my perspective the only time the Link worked flawlessly was just after I bought it and I have no idea what builds those were. I'm a little loathe to revert the link's build since as far as I can tell the video (borderlands issue) started sometime in january (it used to when streaming anything from either computer) - now it appears to only happen on the amd desktop, but that may be that the i7 desktop hasn't been doing much streaming other than XCOM2. I've tried the firewall port settings => no effect.īoth computers are running the stable builds of Steam and the link is on it's latest build.Īlso occasionally if I turn the link on before the tv is set to the correct HDMI input the link won't actually work and I have to turn it off and then on again. The XCOM2 issue happens on Win7 Ultimate 64, 18gigs Ram, i7920, GTX770 4gig. ![]() The Borderlands issue occurs on Win7 Ultimate 64, 8gigs Ram, AMD Phenom II x4 955, GTX 550 TI 4gig, I've been having issues with the link droping video for a few seconds and then reconnecting in Borderlands 2, and also the video stream crashing out completely and sending the link back to the main screen (the audio continues and the steam controller continues to function) in XCOM2.
